About the role

  • Help families save money by selecting solar energy products, systems, or services based on electrical energy requirements, site conditions, price, or other factors
  • Provide customers with information, such as quotes, orders, sales, shipping, warranties, credit, funding options, incentives, or tax rebates.
  • Gather information from prospective customers to identify their solar energy needs.
  • Provide technical information about solar power, solar systems, equipment, and services to potential customers or dealers.
  • Calculate costs for potential solar resources or solar array production for a particular site considering issues such as climate, shading, and roof orientation.
  • Influence customers to make a buying decision and close contracts confidently.
  • Generate solar energy customer leads to develop new accounts.
  • Interface with decision-makers daily to determine their solar equipment needs, suggest systems or equipment, or estimate costs
  • C oordinate with Marketing to develop strategic plans for sales territories
  • Demonstrate use of solar and related equipment to customers or dealers
  • Attend local events to demonstrate products to customers
  • Proactively prospect and canvass in identified territories
  • Receive leadership and mentorship from veteran solar leaders

Requirements

  • Associates degree in Sales, Marketing, Energy Consulting or other related degree
  • 2 years or more of experience as a Solar Sales Consultant
  • In-depth knowledge of solar equipment and installations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate very good customer service skills
  • Be very persuasive and outgoing
  • Ability to be a successful first-time closer
  • Ability to relay technical information in layman’s terms
  • Ability to travel and work irregular hours (evening, weekends)
  • Basic knowledge of solar sales and MS Office software
  • Valid CA driving license with acceptable driving record
  • Good knowledge of Salesforce
  • Experience with virtual inspection
  • Experience with New Construction Sales
