About the role
- Reserving Actuary – Personal Lines responsible for Home Insurance reserve estimates and regulatory reporting at Hastings Direct. Engaging with stakeholders and leading analysis for pricing decisions.
Responsibilities
- Leading the provision of Home reserving analyses, including formal quarterly valuations and presentations
- Input to pricing forums, business planning and financial forecasting processes
- Leading the conduct and reporting of formal quarterly claims reserve reviews
- Identifying areas for improvement and refinement of processes
- Engaging effectively with auditors on claims reserving and other actuarial matters
Requirements
- Extensive experience within a similar actuarial role – ideally with some experience in home reserving
- Knowledge of ResQ, latest developments and industry practice regarding modelling techniques
- Strong communicator and relationship builder
- Proven experience of being able to explain and justify the use of expert judgement
