About the role

  • Draft and review rate, rule, & form filings for ongoing and new lines of business
  • Communicate with state Departments of Insurance, workers’ compensation bureaus, industry bureaus and associations regarding regulatory issues, including exams and other inquiries
  • Research, analyze and interpret bureau circulars and bulletins to identify impact and act on items significant to company operations
  • Research, analyze and explain rules and regulations
  • Assist in underwriting compliance and filing issues involving company, rate, and coverage form issues
  • Perform regular review audits of business partner programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Respond to complaints received from Policyholders
  • Act as primary SIU/Fraud reporting contact and ensure timely completion of anti-fraud training requirements
  • Manage and update policy issuance system with rate and form changes
  • Communicate with internal reporting team regarding filing and reporting requirements
  • Train staff as needed
  • Ability to travel occasionally
  • Perform other activities, duties and assignments as needed

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and recommend solutions
  • Ability to present to external parties in a pleasant, professional manner
  • Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential, sensitive information
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to effectively manage deadlines independently and within a team environment
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Ability to travel occasionally
  • Working knowledge of laws, regulations, and industry standards relevant to insurance, including program compliance audit reviews, regulatory filings, and reporting (desired)
  • 3-5 years’ experience in the insurance industry, specifically with analyzing, drafting and reviewing insurance policy forms and underwriting/rating manuals in compliance with statutory requirements throughout multiple states (desired)
  • Knowledge of insurance underwriting procedures (desired)
  • Familiarity with SERFF, iFile/IRFS, NCCI, ISO, Salesforce, PowerBI (desired)
  • Professional certification such as CPCU or similar (desired)
