About the role
- QA Analyst ensuring quality and reliability of digital products at Nelson. Collaborating with teams to design and execute test cases across web applications for exceptional user experiences.
Responsibilities
- Plan, design, and execute manual and exploratory test cases across web platforms.
- Participate in sprint planning and backlog grooming to ensure test coverage and clarity of acceptance criteria.
- Log, track, and verify defects in Jira; write and maintain test cases in TestRail.
- Collaborate with developers and product managers to reproduce, troubleshoot, and resolve issues.
- Contribute to regression testing, release readiness verification, and maintenance of QA documentation.
- Support the integration and ongoing improvement of automated testing (experience with Playwright or similar tools is an asset).
- Apply QA best practices and maintain consistent quality standards across products.
- Identify opportunities to enhance test coverage, efficiency, and team workflows.
- Stay informed about product functionality, user needs, and accessibility (AODA) compliance.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of experience in software or web application quality assurance.
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Hands-on experience with Jira, TestRail, and test case management best practices.
- Working knowledge of web technologies, APIs, databases, and cross-browser testing.
- Experience with Playwright, Postman, or other automation tools (an asset).
- Comfortable working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Highly organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
