About the role

  • Help us raise the bar on software quality that supports vital Social Care and Education services.
  • Play a key role in the QA leadership team, owning the testing strategy across our division and building a Test Centre of Excellence from the ground up.
  • Mentor Test Leads, Engineers and Automation specialists, ensuring our releases are robust, performant and delivered on time and to budget.
  • Provide hands-on leadership across the SDLC, championing “quality first” and setting clear objectives and KPIs for the QA function.
  • Design and embed best-practice processes aligned to ISO 9001, partner with Quality, Security & Compliance colleagues, and collaborate with product and engineering teams to continually improve test coverage, automation and non-functional testing.
  • Analyse trends and project data, drive root-cause analysis, and reduce defects escaping to UAT/production.
  • Ensure resource planning and utilisation are in place, maintain training and development plans, and keep the team motivated, skilled and supported.
  • Deliver high-quality software that meets customer requirements and System C standards.

Requirements

  • Strong track record leading QA/testing in Agile and waterfall environments, with deep knowledge of test methodologies.
  • Experience establishing automation and non-functional testing frameworks; familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Xray, Jenkins, Selenium, SoapUI and Postman.
  • Proven ability to manage and influence at all levels and drive collaboration across internal and external teams.
  • Helpful: experience with Local Government information systems; relevant certifications (ISTQB/ISO 9001/Scaled Agile).
