About the role
- QA Engineer delivering high-quality software for NHS using structured manual testing. Collaborating with teams and working on patient-facing NHS software to ensure safety and effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safe, high-quality delivery of software in our NHS Business Unit through structured, thoughtful manual testing.
- De-risking releases - ensuring confidence across clinical workflows.
- Manual and automated testing - the growing complexity of the product and use cases means more structured, consistent testing is required.
- Applying quality expertise - helping the team avoid regressions, ensure safety, and maintain high trust in the product.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams - including engineers, product managers, clinicians, and regulatory colleagues.
- Working on patient-facing NHS software - direct clinical impact.
- High-stakes delivery - ensuring confidence in each release.
- Sprint-based development - mix of feature, bugfix, and compliance-focused work.
- Tools and technologies - Working with Slack, Jira, Google Docs, and modern browser-based tools.
Requirements
- Strong experience in manual testing of complex web and/or mobile software applications.
- Has tested clinical, NHS, or regulated health software.
- Ability to write and maintain structured, reusable test cases and regression packs.
- Comfortable working in agile sprint teams and testing from user stories, designs, and requirements.
- Familiarity with defect tracking and triage tools (e.g. Jira, TestRail).
- Experience testing in a regulated, clinical, or safety-critical environment is a strong advantage.
- Structured exploratory testing approaches.
- Regression testing and risk-based prioritisation.
- Traceability and documentation best practices in regulated environments.
- Working with BDD-style user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Familiarity with software release lifecycle and UAT processes.
