About the role
- Property Accountant responsible for financial statements and tenant relations for property portfolio at WS Development. Collaborating across teams and managing both complex and less complicated properties.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for a portfolio of properties including both complex and less complicated properties
- Monthly preparation of financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, variance analyses, and reconciliations
- Work on upper and lower tier entities within a structure and will take a first pass at REIT testing
- Prepare cash distribution worksheets and annual budgets for properties
- Respond to questions pertaining to year-end work with outside auditors
- Prepare Common Area Maintenance and Real Estate Tax tenant billings on a quarterly and/or monthly basis
- Review the work of less experienced Property Accountants and provide training
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 3 to 5+ years of general ledger / financial statement preparation in a similar environment.
- Knowledge of MRI, Avidxchange and Anaplan is highly desirable
- Strong Excel knowledge
- The ideal candidate will be able to quickly learn and master various software
