About the role

Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and commercial insights to product teams
- Collaborate with senior lawyers, product managers, and engineers to develop and grow Monzo Bank in the UK
- Partner with product managers to advise on legal matters relating to borrowing products
- Support compliance with the Consumer Credit Act and related laws
- Coordinate legal matters with various teams across Monzo
- Provide training on the impact of laws and regulations
- Manage relationships with external suppliers and law firms
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of relevant post-qualification experience in the banking and finance sector with a focus on mortgages and consumer finance
- Strong background advising on commercial and regulatory issues related to banking products
- Demonstrated experience advising on laws and regulations relevant to financial services
- Experience advising on the content of regulated financial promotions
- Experience drafting customer-facing terms and conditions including regulated and unregulated credit agreements
- Strong communicator able to provide clear, precise, and practical legal advice
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to prioritize and work under tight deadlines
