About the role
- Procurement Professional managing freight procurement for ALDI’s international operations. Supporting planning, tendering, and supplier relationships within a global context.
Responsibilities
- As a Procurement Professional, you are responsible for supporting the planning, implementation, and optimisation of ALDI’s freight procurement
- Your tasks include conducting research, preparing and managing tenders, and supporting contract negotiations
- You will perform market analyses to identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements
- You will collaborate with international suppliers and with all ALDI SOUTH countries worldwide
- You will maintain and control records to meet deadlines, ensuring that information in all systems is kept accurate and up to date
- You act as the primary contact for developing existing and establishing new supplier relationships
- You will analyze and document current business processes and propose cross-functional strategies
- Preparing and editing contracts and presentation materials are also part of your responsibilities
Requirements
- Initial experience in procurement, ideally in freight, logistics, or supply chain management
- University degree or commercial vocational training completed
- Experience with tendering and contracting processes, including working with Transporeon, SAP Transportation Management, and SAP Ariba, and collaborating with external suppliers and consultants
- Understanding of freight cost structures, logistics networks, and sustainability initiatives within supply chain management
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility for results
- Proficient in MS Office
- Fluent in English; knowledge of German is a strong advantage
- Excellent attention to detail and a structured mindset
- Independent, cooperative, and reliable working style
