About the role
- Lead the design and delivery of the bank’s electronic Interest Rate Swap (eIRS) trading platform
- Architect and implement scalable, low-latency systems that support real-time pricing, negotiation, and trade execution across dealer-to-dealer and dealer-to-client markets
- Work closely with trading desks, quant teams, and product owners to deliver innovative solutions that enhance market competitiveness and operational resilience
- Shape the future of the digital platform by designing, developing, and deploying innovative technology solutions
- Champion thought leadership for process architecture and develop options for improving and updating current capability
- Manage code and contribute to strategic technology direction for the team
- Focus on performance tuning/optimization, SRE practices, and DevSecOps/CI/CD delivery
Requirements
- Comfortable being responsible for the strategic technology direction for the team, including managing code
- Familiar with low latency concepts and geographically distributed engineering
- Have streaming and service subscription services design
- Knowledgeable with eTrading systems performance tuning/optimisation
- In-depth exposure to international eTrading/pricing systems
- Deep expertise in Java (8/17), Spring Boot, and distributed systems architecture
- Experience with IRS market platforms such as Tradeweb and MarkitWire
- Strong understanding of IRS instruments, pricing conventions, and swap templates
- Familiarity with AWS services (EC2, S3, Redis, SNS, SQS), Kafka/EventHub
- Experience with DevSecOps/CI/CD technologies and modern SRE technology
- Experienced in using Agentic AI to assist engineering effort
- Knowledge of quant libraries and risk analytics integration
- Understanding of SSL standard for secure encrypted communications
- Ability to work closely with trading desks, quant teams, and product owners
