About the role

  • Lead Complex Electrical Design Projects that Power National Defence
  • Take a lead role in delivering complex Medium Voltage (1kV - 33kV) design projects
  • Focus on designing and modifying electrical power distribution assets and their supporting supervisory control and data acquisition systems
  • Lead the full lifecycle of MV electrical design from concept to detailed design and assurance
  • Provide technical support for site visits, surveys, and installation solutions
  • Produce and review design documentation, including drawings, reports, and specifications
  • Offer technical oversight during implementation, including factory and site acceptance testing
  • Mentor junior engineers and engage with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies

Requirements

  • Extensive experience designing HV/LV electrical distribution systems in regulated or safety-critical environments
  • Proven ability to lead design reviews and provide technical assurance
  • Strong understanding of legislation, regulations, and standards for electrical engineering
  • Significant experience commissioning power distribution systems
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) preferred
  • Lower grades considered for development roles
  • The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
