About the role
- Principal Database Engineer supporting critical database platforms for Fidelity, with expertise in Oracle and cloud technologies. Involves design, implementation, and administration of database systems.
Responsibilities
- Support challenging mission critical database platforms
- Provide technical leadership for strategic projects
- Perform applications database administration (Oracle/Postgres) services
- Monitor databases servers and respond to any alerts
- Design and implement highly resilient and performing Oracle database platforms
- Provide database development support in all phases of SDLC
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in Oracle Database technologies
- 3+ years of Cloud experience
- 1+ experience in DB performance for other database platforms (Postgres, CockroachDB, Snowflake, Cassandra, MS SQL server, Netezza etc)
- 5+ years of experience in Distributed replication technologies (Oracle Goldengate, EDB Replication, etc), preferred
- Experience with cloud databases platforms (AWS/Azure/Oracle OCI certification is helpful)
- Strong Linux shell scripting experience preferred with a good understanding of Linux Performance
- A good understanding of Oracle RAC related performance challenges
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Ability to develop and drive database performance standards, standard methodologies and initiatives
