About the role

• Current Product Placement Student specializing in Engineering at Cummins in Darlington. Involves supporting technical aspects of the Cummins Emission Solutions technology throughout Europe.

Responsibilities

• Working under the guidance of the Technical Specialist, the student will be involved in all aspects of the current product engineering group.
• Assisting to provide technical support for Cummins Emission Solutions technology, throughout Europe.
• Supporting the identification, resolution and implementation of fixes on key product issues with Automotive OEM’s.
• Participating in product issue projects following the 7-step process including fault tree analysis, field data analysis and route cause analysis.
• Vehicle and test cell data analysis using Cummins own analysis tools and Matlab.
• Involvement in the placement student team community involvement team planning charity and local community support events.

Requirements

• We are looking for a wide range of applicants studying towards a Bachelor’s or Master's degree from across all Engineering & STEM related subjects
• Excellent computing skills; Experience with Microsoft Office desirable.
• An understanding of how a diesel engine works and a basic knowledge of how an aftertreatment system works.
• Good team working, communication and task prioritization.
• Enthusiasm and interest in Engineering is required
