Responsibilities
- Draft patents related to exciting and challenging technologies
- Manage worldwide filing programs and corresponding prosecution through to grant
- Stay updated with manufacturing and supply chain arrangements to tailor patent strategy accordingly
- Actively engage with technical teams to foster invention capture
- Monitor R&D activities and cross-check against the company’s patents
- Continuously review the company’s patent position across all product lines
- Perform third-party monitoring, competitor analysis, and support due diligence
- Assess potential conflicts from a patent perspective
- Guide technical teams regarding third-party IP and innovation hot spots and cold spots
- Assist with existing patent license arrangements and royalty management
- Support the development of new licensing opportunities
- Provide staff training and support regarding technical innovation
- Work closely and efficiently with the existing IP admin manager
- Show willingness to broaden horizons through involvement with third-party agreements, trademarks, domain names, trade secrets, etc.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in physics or relevant engineering (such as mechanical or electrical) or similar (at least 2:1)
- Completed foundation level patent qualification
- Finals-level UK and EQE, or recently qualified
