About the role

  • Within this role you will be designing and delivering teaching and assessment on our MA Writing for Young People programme as well as contributing to undergraduate teaching and or short courses in creative writing.
  • The role will also involve managing modules and assessments via the University’s virtual learning environment, supporting programme development, and engaging in key activities such as student recruitment and open days.
  • As part of our Creative Writing community, you will be engaging in relevant research and scholarly activity in support of the university’s research strategy, contributing to internal and external networks, and building productive relationships with external partners.
  • You will also be supervising and mentoring colleagues with less experience, advising on their personal development.

Requirements

  • Experience of university level learning, teaching and assessment in Creative Writing
  • Publication record as a writer for children and/or young adults.
  • Knowledge and experience of writing for children and/or young adults sector
  • Use of digital learning environments and e-learning tools
  • Relevant research degree and experience
  • Experience of curriculum design and development
  • Experience of developing and running short courses
  • Interest in pedagogic innovation and working with external partners
  • HEA Fellowship is desirable but not essential
