About the role
- Paralegal managing a caseload of litigated Motor/RTA matters in Glasgow or Edinburgh. Role involves handling procedural aspects and communicating with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Handle a caseload of c70 files at any one time.
- Deal with all procedural aspects from issue through to trial.
- Draft all pleadings.
- Demonstrate the ability to value personal injury using JC Guidelines and case law.
- Assess claims for special damages.
- Negotiate settlement where appropriate using persuasive arguments.
- Have strong telephone negotiation skills.
- Prepare witness statements for use in court proceedings, taken via telephone call or video call.
- Attend conferences with counsel when required.
- Liaise with other professionals such as claimant's solicitors, counsel, courts, brokers, policyholders and the insurer clients.
- Have strong organisation skills and be able to use a case management system.
- Ensure all Management Information is completed timely and accurately.
- Adhere to client SLA requirements in terms of reporting and updates.
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Requirements
- Previous Motor/RTA litigation experience is essential.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- The ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently by managing time in a fast pace environment.
- A Professional manner with the ability to build relationships internally and externally.
