About the role

  • Operations Developer focused on process automation and operational efficiency for a transformative fintech company. Collaborating with teams to enhance back-office tooling and seamless client experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Operations teams to analyse workflows, pain points, and manual processes.
  • Automate repetitive tasks and manual checks using SQL, scripting, or integrations.
  • Enhance and maintain the back-office system, building new features to support operational needs.
  • Develop monitoring and alerting systems to enable more proactive operational management.
  • Create dashboards (e.g. Tableau, Metabase) to give clear visibility of key operational metrics.
  • Investigate operational bugs and issues, identifying root causes and delivering fixes or automation to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with technology teams when dependencies arise, ensuring solutions align with business priorities.
  • Propose and drive a longer-term automation strategy, including AI/ML opportunities to further improve efficiency.

Requirements

  • Strong SQL skills (data extraction, transformation, and automation).
  • Experience developing back-office or internal tools (full-stack capability ideal).
  • Proven ability to identify and deliver quick wins while building toward a long-term strategy.
  • Experience with dashboarding / BI tools (Tableau, Metabase, or similar).
  • Problem-solving mindset, able to investigate root causes of operational issues.
  • Ability to work directly with non-technical stakeholders and translate operational needs into technical solutions.
  • Experience in fintech, financial services, or other regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with automation frameworks or scripting (Python, Node.js, etc.).
  • Knowledge of AI/ML applications for automation and data-driven decision-making.
  • Understanding of alerting/monitoring systems.
