About the role
- Network Systems Engineer designing and maintaining communication infrastructure for ICEYE’s satellite operations. Collaborating with global ground station networks and internal teams for optimized network solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain the communication infrastructure that connects ICEYE’s ground segment systems with global ground station networks.
- Collaborate closely with ground station partners and internal engineering teams to integrate, validate, and continuously optimize network solutions.
- Ensure reliable, secure, and high-performance data flows throughout our mission-critical systems.
- Enhance performance, fault tolerance, and resilience, enabling the robust communication backbone that powers ICEYE’s satellite operations worldwide.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a similar field.
- Proven experience in network engineering and network systems administration within hybrid on-prem/cloud environments.
- Solid understanding of IP networking principles, routing, firewalls, and VPN technologies.
- Strong knowledge of Linux-based systems and hands-on experience with Bash scripting.
- Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure automation and configuration management.
- Experience designing and maintaining secure, highly available network infrastructures.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to identify, research and resolve new problems, including those involving new technologies.
- Keen interest and pragmatic experience in using AI/LLM tools assisting software development and operations.
- Ability and willingness to learn new skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong team-working and communication skills in English.

- Experience with software development or scripting in languages such as Python or Go.
- High-performance network programming, socket-level development, and protocol optimization.
- Experience or familiarity with Satellite communications, ground station networks, and space systems operations.
- Experience with RF propagation and modulations.
- Experience with Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and GitOps workflows.
