About the role
- Provide full breadth of Child and Youth Behavioral counseling services to children of military service members and their families
- Non-medical counseling, training, health/wellness presentations
- Consult with parents, personnel, schools, and installation command
- Work closely with installation and military branch Points of Contact
- Provide training and wellness presentations at various events
- Enter counselor activity data daily to assure reporting accuracy
- Maintain confidentiality and anonymity of clients
- Manage duty to warn and restricted reporting situations
- Communicate trends and issues with supervisors and participate in regular supervision
Requirements
- Master’s Degree from an accredited Graduate Program in a Mental Health related field
- Valid unrestricted independent counseling license
- A minimum of two years of post-licensure clinical experience
- Demonstrate intermediate-level competencies in technology and software (i.e., Microsoft Suite)
- Ability to engage and communicate with military members or children
- Ability to traverse various physical locations on a military installation
- Must comply with specific site requirements for working on military installations
- Prove US Citizenship and fluency in English
- Understanding, sensitivity, and empathy for service members and their families
- Ability to develop trusting, helping relationships
- Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Pass background checks (National Agency Check and Inquiries, Installation Records Check, Criminal Background Check, FBI Fingerprints Check)
- Valid U.S. state vehicle operator’s license
