About the role
- Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering Co-op supporting Dozer table top test rig development and enhancement. Involves hands-on experience with motion control systems and sensor integrations.
Responsibilities
- Support the extension and enhancement of the existing Dozer table top test rig.
- Help with development and testing of products involving a motion control system.
- Research and hardware selection for accurate surface measurement technologies.
- Assist in designing mounting systems for sensor hardware integration.
- Design a data collection system to interface with the laser scanning hardware.
- Test performance measures and evaluate results derived from new sensing systems.
Requirements
- Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Robotics Engineering are disciplines applicable to this position.
- Proficiency in coding is required, particularly experience with languages such as C#, C++, Matlab, or Python.
- CAD experience to create custom bracketry and kitting.
- Experience with rapid prototyping (3D Printing, CNC Router, Electronic circuits).
- A positive attitude with a 'can-do' willingness to learn, and the ability to collaborate in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and interpersonal).
- Ability to document approaches and results.
