About the role

  • Manage and optimise both on-premises and cloud infrastructure, enabling scalability, resilience, and strong security practices
  • Oversee incident management, disaster recovery, and performance monitoring to ensure the stability and availability of our platform
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of DevOps and SRE engineers, supporting their growth and creating a high-performing, collaborative environment
  • Provide technical direction and oversight across projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timely, high-quality delivery
  • Champion best practices for automation, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code, and ensure these are embedded in day-to-day work
  • Collaborate with security, product, and engineering teams to deliver infrastructure that is robust, secure, and fit for the future
  • Delivery of scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure solutions
  • Successful execution of hybrid and cloud transformation projects
  • Strong operational reliability and measurable improvement in incident response and recovery
  • Maintain a strong technical understanding of the systems your team builds and supports
  • Contribute to hands-on technical work where needed to unblock or support delivery
  • Ensure ongoing patching, upgrades, and performance tuning of infrastructure
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams across security, product, IT, and engineering
  • Provide clear communication and guidance to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and knowledge sharing

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading and mentoring DevOps and SRE teams
  • Strong experience managing on-premises infrastructure and hybrid environments
  • Familiarity with container orchestration such as Kubernetes
  • Deep understanding of cloud architectures and experience with at least one major provider such as GCP or AWS
  • Strong expertise with infrastructure as code and automation practices
  • Experience of building and running CI/CD pipelines and monitoring solutions
  • A solid understanding of security best practices and experience applying them in complex environments
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience managing large scale on-premises and cloud migrations
  • Familiarity with container orchestration such as Kubernetes
  • Understanding of networking and co-located infrastructure
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Ruby, Java, or Go
  • Experience managing database clusters
