About the role
- Senior Platform Engineer enhancing digital commerce platform focusing on scalability and performance at Signet Jewelers. Collaborating with teams to adopt modern engineering practices and AI-assisted development.
Responsibilities
- Build and enhance features on SAP Commerce Cloud (CCV2) and Spartacus-based storefronts
- Develop scalable, cloud-native solutions using AWS services
- Apply AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to improve delivery efficiency
- Contribute to intelligent automation patterns using AWS Bedrock and related services
- Optimize CDN and edge performance, including Akamai configuration and caching strategies
- Improve application performance across frontend, backend, and API layers
- Produce and contribute to technical designs and engineering standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality commerce solutions
- Support production systems, including monitoring, triage, and issue resolution
- Contribute to engineering standards, documentation, and knowledge sharing across teams
- Invest in continuous learning, training, mentorship, and overall team growth
- Participate in product team ceremonies & technical team planning sessions etc.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in computer science or a related discipline
- Certifications are a Preferred – Hybris, Akamai, AWS, AI, Other
- 6+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on eCommerce platforms
- Hands-on experience with SAP Commerce Cloud (CCV2) & Spartacus experience preferred
- Strong expertise in AWS and cloud-native development
- Familiarity with AWS Bedrock or similar AI platforms
- Experience scaling GitHub Copilot and similar AI-assisted development tools
- Working knowledge of CDN concepts, including Akamai or similar platforms
- Proficiency in Java and JavaScript/TypeScript
- Experience with APIs, microservices, and integration patterns
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in high-scale retail or eCommerce environments
- Exposure to AI-driven commerce capabilities
- Knowledge of performance engineering and observability tools
- Familiarity with headless or composable commerce architectures
- Experience working in agile, multi-team environments
