Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor a team of property accountants
- Review and approve financial statements, journal entries, and reconciliations
- Ensure timely completion of daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting tasks
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client inquiries and escalations
- Maintain and enforce department Standard Operating Procedures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support client needs and internal initiatives
- Participate in industry events and trade shows as needed
- Provide backup support during team absences to ensure continuity of service
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in property accounting
- Prior experience managing accounting teams
- Strong knowledge of real estate accounting practices
- Experience with MRI Property Management X (PMX) software is a plus
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
