About the role

Responsibilities
- Lead design strategy and execution for Unlearn’s core platform and AI-powered products.
- Drive end-to-end design, from discovery and concept through to prototyping, validation, and delivery.
- Partner with PMs, engineers, and ML researchers to define product direction and advocate for design excellence.
- Mentor other designers, guiding their craft, process, and communication.
- Help shape Unlearn’s design function: processes, rituals, and best practices that support velocity and quality.
- Lead customer research and usability testing to ensure designs are grounded in real-world user needs.
- Evangelize the role of design across the company, helping teammates understand how thoughtful UX drives business and scientific outcomes.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in product design, including leadership of complex, data-rich products.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product thinking, from insight to polished execution.
- Proven experience shipping 0→1 products in startup or high-growth environments.
- Deep experience designing complex workflows or analytic tools (bonus for healthcare, science, or data visualization).
- Skilled in Figma and modern prototyping tools.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills; able to influence across functions and levels.
- Experience mentoring or leading designers.
- Knowledge of biopharma, biotech, or clinical trial software is a plus but not required.
