About the role
- Work on public sector projects and make a positive difference in people’s lives.
- Research, develop, and test new AI algorithms, models, and technologies to automate tasks and gain insights from data.
- Test off-the-shelf techniques and models against customer use cases and produce full stack Proofs of Concept.
- Mentor junior team members and influence technical decisions.
- Design, build, test, and deploy complex machine learning models ensuring quality, performance, and scalability.
- Act as focal point for research activities and evaluation/prototyping of generative AI technologies.
- Act as technical expert for complex, non-routine ML challenges and implement innovative solutions.
- Customise, optimise, re-train and maintain existing models and deploy them into production.
- Integrate models with existing systems and assure models meet performance, safety and security requirements.
Requirements
- Broad technical expertise in machine learning, demonstrating a deep understanding of various ML algorithms, frameworks, and best practices.
- Plans and directs and carries out research activities, acting as a subject matter expert in generative AI research.
- Systematically discovers and evaluates new generative AI technologies for business relevance, feasibility and relevance within the National Security Domain.
- Delivers complex, high-risk proofs of concept that test new AI applications.
- Serves as the primary source of expertise for generative AI within the organization.
- Applies a range of data science techniques to support model development.
- Proven experience in building, deploying, and managing complex machine learning models.
- British Citizen and resident in the UK for the last ten years (UK government security restriction).
