About the role
- Lead Financial Analyst responsible for accounting and financial reporting at Transamerica. Analyze financial data, provide leadership, and support client reporting needs in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with product line reporting for the Life Equity business (Indexed UL and Variable UL)
- Extract financial data from various accounting and information systems to perform appropriate analyses
- Analyze financial data and define relevant information; interpret data for the purpose of determining past financial performance and/or to project a financial result
- Determine appropriate methodology to prepare information for use by others
- May manage staff to achieve performance standards
- Develop and motivate staff to achieve effectiveness; mentor, train and share knowledge
- Ensure staff demonstrates appropriate customer service attitudes
- Offer leadership and direction to others
- Exhibit a thorough understanding of business and analysis concepts
- Support client reporting needs including client performance and compensation
- Perform client analysis and trend reporting
- Participate in monthly accounting processes to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
- Recommend changes to processes to improve and achieve greater efficiencies
- Utilize a thorough understanding of the business to proactively develop financial reports and complex models for forecasting, trending and results analysis
- Work effectively with other departments/divisions to ensure business issues are resolved for the success of the company
- Solve complex problems in creative ways; significant initiative and independent judgment required; make varied decisions

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and/or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 8 years experience, with degree
- Advanced computer skills
- 1 year supervisory experience (preferred)
- Solid knowledge of accounting/financial area (for example, investments, insurance products, premium)
- Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
- Ability to handle multiple projects
