About the role

  • Finance Department Head in a modern humanistic association responsible for financial management and team leadership. Leading digital transformation and financial processes with a focus on organization-wide improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for a team of 10 employees with scope for initiative and autonomy
  • Conceptual, organizational, personnel and financial responsibility for the Finance department
  • Driving the ongoing change process and supporting the digital transformation of the finance function
  • Supporting the implementation of an electronic document management system (EDMS)
  • Advising and supporting departmental management on strategic matters, financial planning and value creation
  • Designing processes and preparing cost calculations for grant-funded projects
  • Bank correspondence, liquidity tracking and investment planning
  • Coordination and negotiation with financial service providers
  • Coordination of the internal preparation of the annual financial statements
  • Evaluation and modernization of organization-wide financial processes and policies

Requirements

  • University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Public Administration or a related field with a focus on cost accounting/controlling/financial management
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in financial management, consulting or controlling
  • Excellent skills in MS Excel (including PivotTables) and/or other controlling and planning software
  • Experience in digitalization processes and change management
  • Very good knowledge of and confident use of at least one common accounting software (ideally Sage100 or DATEV)
  • Solid knowledge of commercial and tax law; knowledge of grant law is an advantage
