About the role

  • Analyse complex datasets to uncover insights that inform business decisions.
  • Build reports and dashboards to track key metrics and KPIs.
  • Translate business questions into clear, actionable data analysis.
  • Visualise data and tell compelling stories that bring insights to life.
  • Partner with department heads to identify priorities and provide data-driven recommendations.
  • Understand stakeholder needs and deliver meaningful, actionable insights.
  • Help non-technical teams interpret data and apply it in decision-making.
  • Support leadership in defining and structuring KPIs across the business.
  • Develop a cohesive KPI tree aligned with company goals.
  • Maintain and improve existing data pipeline to ensure data quality and reliability.
  • Integrate new data sources and prepare them for analysis.
  • Line-manage and mentor a Data Analyst, providing guidance and clear priorities.
  • Help shape the growth of the data function and define best practices.
  • Foster a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Strong curiosity and proactive mindset, with the ability to independently explore data, ask the right questions, identify opportunities, and drive projects forward without requiring constant guidance.
  • Experience in data analytics and the ability to extract actionable insights from complex datasets.
  • Proficiency with SQL and other data query languages.
  • Proven ability to work closely with business stakeholders and translate their needs into data-driven solutions.
  • Experience in developing reports and dashboards to monitor key metrics.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to present complex data in a way that is understandable and actionable for non-technical stakeholders across departments.
  • Proficiency with data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Metabase).
  • Ability to educate and train stakeholders on data literacy.
  • Basic skills in maintaining and evolving data pipelines (nice to have).
  • Basic programming skills in languages such as Python or R for data manipulation (nice to have).
  • Understanding of statistical methods and their application to business problems (nice to have).
  • Experience working in a startup or fast-paced environment (nice to have).
  • Management experience (nice to have).
