About the role

• Experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer managing on-premises and cloud IT infrastructure at EP UK Investments Ltd. Role includes optimizing Microsoft 365 services and overseeing security tools.

Responsibilities

• Administering, maintaining, and optimising Microsoft 365 services, including Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and Azure services.
• Managing and supporting VMware on-premises infrastructure, including virtualised servers, storage, and networking components.
• Ensuring infrastructure systems are patched, maintained, and aligned with best practices for availability, performance, and security.
• Providing escalation support for complex technical issues across the infrastructure stack.
• Overseeing and maintaining security tools including Microsoft Defender and Mimecast, focusing on detection and response to potential threats.
• Co-ordinating and implementing vulnerability detection and remediation processes.
• Implementing security practices throughout infrastructure, including access control, patching, and configuration management.
• Assisting with security reviews and audits to help meet internal policies and industry regulations.
• Participating in incident response activities by providing technical support for infrastructure-related issues.
• Identifying opportunities to modernise, streamline, and improve infrastructure services.
• Keeping up to date with technology trends and recommend improvements that align with business goals.
• Collaborating with IT colleagues to ensure a secure, efficient, and resilient IT environment.

Requirements

• Proven experience in IT operations, system administration, or cyber security - *essential*.
• Hands-on expertise with security tools, vulnerability management, and incident response - *essential*.
• Solid knowledge of security technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, vulnerability scanners) - *essential*.
• Strong technical skills in Microsoft 365 (Entra ID, Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, Intune, Azure), Windows Server/Active Directory, and networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls).
• Familiarity with Microsoft Defender and Mimecast.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills across complex IT environments.
• Degree qualified in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other relevant discipline - *essential*.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, CompTIA Security+) - *desirable*.
