About the role
- Experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer managing on-premises and cloud IT infrastructure at EP UK Investments Ltd. Role includes optimizing Microsoft 365 services and overseeing security tools.
Responsibilities
- Administering, maintaining, and optimising Microsoft 365 services, including Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and Azure services.
- Managing and supporting VMware on-premises infrastructure, including virtualised servers, storage, and networking components.
- Ensuring infrastructure systems are patched, maintained, and aligned with best practices for availability, performance, and security.
- Providing escalation support for complex technical issues across the infrastructure stack.
- Overseeing and maintaining security tools including Microsoft Defender and Mimecast, focusing on detection and response to potential threats.
- Co-ordinating and implementing vulnerability detection and remediation processes.
- Implementing security practices throughout infrastructure, including access control, patching, and configuration management.
- Assisting with security reviews and audits to help meet internal policies and industry regulations.
- Participating in incident response activities by providing technical support for infrastructure-related issues.
- Identifying opportunities to modernise, streamline, and improve infrastructure services.
- Keeping up to date with technology trends and recommend improvements that align with business goals.
- Collaborating with IT colleagues to ensure a secure, efficient, and resilient IT environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience in IT operations, system administration, or cyber security - *essential*.
- Hands-on expertise with security tools, vulnerability management, and incident response - *essential*.
- Solid knowledge of security technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, vulnerability scanners) - *essential*.
- Strong technical skills in Microsoft 365 (Entra ID, Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, Intune, Azure), Windows Server/Active Directory, and networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Defender and Mimecast.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills across complex IT environments.
- Degree qualified in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other relevant discipline - *essential*.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, CompTIA Security+) - *desirable*.
