About the role

  • Source, screen, and assess fund investment opportunities in Indonesia and other Target Countries aligned with ADI’s mandate.
  • Lead commercial and financial due diligence processes, while coordinating with Sarona’s Impact and ESG teams for their respective assessments.
  • Lead, with supervision, the structuring, negotiation, and closing of investments.
  • Prepare investment proposals and present to Sarona senior management and the ADI Investment Committee.
  • Monitor fund and portfolio performance; engage with fund managers to identify value-add opportunities and manage risks.
  • Ensure other team members are consistently updated on pipeline and monitoring activities via Slack channels.
  • Keep Sarona systems (e.g., Salesforce and internal Excel databases) updated as needed.
  • Conduct research on investment trends, fund structures, and climate finance developments in Indonesia and the Indo-Pacific region.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with fund managers, co-investors, DFIs, and ecosystem partners.
  • Collaborate with Sarona’s dedicated Impact team to integrate gender and climate objectives into investment analysis and monitoring.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in private equity, venture capital, and/or impact investing.
  • Proven track record in fund-of-funds investing and familiarity with fund structuring; direct investing experience is a plus.
  • Recent exposure to climate finance a strong plus.
  • Demonstrated understanding of impact investing and development finance, ideally with experience in emerging markets.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with the ability to assess investment opportunities and interpret fund financials.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia (written and verbal).
  • Proactive, organized, and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
  • A strong team player with experience working in a deal team environment and engaging a range of stakeholders (e.g., DFIs, fund managers, ecosystem partners).
