About the role

• Hybrid Cloud Architect working on IT infrastructure for public sector clients in Germany. Responsible for modern architecture design, transformation projects, and customer advisory.

Responsibilities

• You support long-term IT projects for clients in the public sector, aiming to build future-proof, secure, and standardized infrastructures.
• You design modern infrastructure architectures aligned with the overarching technical and strategic objectives of public clients.
• You gather requirements directly on-site with clients and produce precise, traceable specifications for technical architectures.
• You identify and assess architecture-relevant standards and translate them into viable IT architecture concepts.
• You develop reusable architectural components for enterprise-wide use by public organizations.
• You review and optimize existing architecture models, support transformation initiatives, and develop migration strategies for existing IT landscapes.
• You advise clients on implementation, rollout, and further development of the architecture — from specification through to productive operation.
• You evaluate existing architecture standards for their suitability for long-term IT operating models in the public sector and contribute to their further development.

Requirements

• Proven experience in designing and evolving IT infrastructure architectures — particularly in the areas of networking, servers, storage, IT security, operating systems, backup, middleware, identity management, IT operations management, and cloud.
• Deep expertise in Software Defined Networking (SDN).
• Automation of infrastructures (Infrastructure as Code).
• Cloud-native network architectures including container and platform technologies.
• Ability to structure complex technical requirements, translate them into architectural models, and implement them strategically and operationally.
• Experience collaborating with public sector clients and producing formal, quality-assured documentation.
