About the role

  • Senior Architect leading AWS Data Management initiatives for Audi and Capgemini's IT consulting team. Focusing on data architecture, governance, and integration for improved automotive processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development teams in the context of data management and design scalable, multi-tenant-capable AWS data architectures with a focus on AWS DataZone and Lake Formation
  • Develop standards and guidelines for data access, sharing, and cataloging in close coordination with Data Owners and business units
  • Integrate external tools such as Collibra into the AWS environment to ensure seamless data governance and high data quality
  • Promote decentralization and automation of data management tasks by enabling self-service solutions for teams and business units
  • Own the creation, evolution, and rollout of principles and policies for handling data
  • Define, continuously update, and enforce group-wide (process) standards and policies in data management in close collaboration with Data Owners, business units, and management functions
  • Participate in and/or coordinate data management activities originating from decentralized projects and ensure continuous alignment with the central Data Management team
  • Model business and data objects and onboard them into the group-wide data catalog via AWS DataZone
  • Organize, prepare, and facilitate data-governance-oriented committees and forums

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of AWS services in the data domain, especially Glue, S3, Redshift, and RDS databases (ideally also AWS DataZone and Lake Formation)
  • General AWS expertise (IAM, Lambda, CloudWatch, KMS, EventBridge, Step Functions, Secrets Manager, ...)
  • Experience leading development teams and implementing data domains and data products
  • Understanding of the principles, practices, and technologies of data management
  • Competence in managing and implementing data access and data sharing processes
  • Experience implementing standards and rules for managing the data catalog
  • Knowledge of data quality and lifecycle management and implementing Data Governance KPIs
  • Solid understanding of business processes in complex automotive companies
  • Competence in integrating third-party tools (e.g., Collibra) into AWS architectures
  • Ability to assert influence with clients and act as a reliable guide in the areas of Data Governance and Data Management
  • Independent, structured working style and strong communication skills with the ability to bring together diverse stakeholders — including across hierarchy levels
  • German and English language skills at a minimum of C1 level are mandatory for this position.
