About the role

  • Act as the single point of contact for the brake team to program/planning teams for future model year programs and attend program meetings as the lead for brakes.
  • Lead the brake systems checkpoint paper creation and present to management at each milestone.
  • Lead weekly brake PMT meetings to track progress to deliverables and keep the brake D&R’s informed of any program changes.
  • Support Team of 4 meetings to deliver sourcing documents on time to supply chain team.
  • Support cost loops and cost target setting process
  • Lead team to make sure all parts and cost are correctly captured.
  • Work with cost ops team to set OCE cost for all components.
  • Lead brainstorming meetings to create cost reduction ideas
  • Lead new component design / package maturation in CAD.
  • Oversee brake system integration & installation, working with body, electrical, powertrain, vehicle operations, and vehicle architecture.
  • Early supplier engagement/interface for advanced concepts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science, mechanical engineering preferred
  • 5+ years of engineering experience preferred.
  • 2+ years of automotive experience preferred.
  • Strong cross-functional & communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of mechanical integration & installation requirements, package & assembly.
  • Experience with CATIA V5/V6 and 3DX is a plus.
  • Experience with underhood / underbody / dash package & mechanical integration/installation a plus.
