About the role

  • Support hydrologic and hydraulic planning and design of stormwater and wet weather improvements, including open channels, storm sewer systems, stormwater detention/retention facilities, dams, levees, and reservoirs
  • Conduct coastal resilience studies and implementation projects
  • Perform condition assessment and in-field services of pipelines, dams, levees, reservoirs, and facilities
  • Engage in water supply planning that provides long-term resilient supplies and mitigates climate change, regulatory uncertainty, aging infrastructure, and population growth/demand changes
  • Plan and design green infrastructure, low impact development, and sustainable watershed measures, including structural BMPs
  • Plan and design erosion and sediment control, including SWPPP development
  • Collaborate with innovative stormwater, water quality, and planning partners to leverage new technologies and approaches for the benefit of clients
  • Work on technical elements of watershed, ecosystem, fluvial geomorphology, limnology, modeling, ecological restoration, and characterization of ecosystem service benefits/values
  • Implement scenario planning projects for integrated watershed management, nature-based solutions, resilience strategies, and surface water management programs projects locally, regionally, and across North America
  • Engage in climate change resilience planning and implementation efforts
  • Conduct mine tailing and effluent management projects
  • Undertake MFL studies and mitigation projects for water bodies, streams, springs, and rivers throughout the region
  • Pursue strategic client opportunities and new services for existing clients

Requirements

  • A degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering
  • A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Proficiency with working and collaborating in virtual environments (MS Teams, WebEx, Zoom)
  • Proficiency with some or all of the following software applications and models: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), AutoCAD, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, EPA/XP/PC-SWMM, InfoWorks
  • Capable of conducting site reconnaissance and remote investigations
  • Experience in working with the regulatory agencies and their permitting functions
  • Experience leading project tasks and executing water resource studies and implementation projects that include watershed management, stream stabilization, ecological restoration, surface water management, water quality, operation, optimization efforts
