About the role

  • Partner with assigned sites to ensure compliance with Global Trade rules and regulations
  • Overall management of the Global Trade program for all assigned sites including implementation of GT requirements (RISC) and reporting of metrics
  • Play a key role during customer and government official audits and compliance visits, ensuring adequate preparation, training, and communication for assigned sites
  • Ensure regulatory compliance through review and approval of foreign travel, foreign visits and export/import transactions and restricted party screening
  • Manage the process for onboarding and individual control plans (ICPs) for non-U.S. person employees and visitors to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Assist in addressing compliance concerns by identifying errors and areas requiring improvement and implementing corrective actions to resolve problems
  • Conduct periodic compliance training and new-hire Global Trade training
  • Answer day-to-day compliance questions, review business practices, improve GT procedures, and develop instructional guidelines
  • Review potential incidents and advise site personnel if an investigation is needed and work with Central Investigations to implement corrective actions
  • Interact with all site functions to obtain information necessary to support the Technology Management group for classifications of imported parts, components, and products
  • Identify compliance gaps and recommend corrective actions to the Advanced Structures GT Leadership team
  • Coordinate and communicate with site personnel to avoid delays associated with the clearance of imported goods
  • Assist Security with visitor management clearance
  • Participate in weekly site leadership staff meetings to communicate any GT guidance and assist with site needs
  • Draft and present Global Trade site council presentation to site leadership on a Quarterly basis
  • Draft and disburse quarterly communications to address any issues or concerns that are site-specific
  • Perform regular reviews, including walking the shop floor, to ensure GT policies and procedures are being followed
  • Maintain applicable trade compliance records in accordance with regulatory requirements

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree and a minimum of 8 years prior relevant experience in Global Trade Compliance or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of experience in Global Trade Compliance
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
  • Experience with import/export laws and regulations (EAR, ITAR, CBP, OFAC)
  • Prior relevant experience managing trade compliance programs at multiple sites or in a multi-national setting (preferred)
  • Proven experience managing trade compliance programs at multiple sites or in a multi-national setting (preferred)
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external stakeholders and develop effective networks
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks with dedication to customer service
  • Experience supporting customer and government official audits and compliance visits, including preparation, training, and communication for assigned sites
  • Experience with foreign travel/visits approval, export/import transaction review, and restricted party screening
  • Experience managing onboarding and individual control plans (ICPs) for non-U.S. person employees and visitors to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Experience conducting compliance training and new-hire Global Trade training
  • Experience interacting with site functions to support classifications of imported parts, components, and products
  • Willingness/ability to work onsite at one of the listed U.S. site locations (Pueblo, CO; Santa Fe Springs, CA; Spokane, WA; Everett, WA)
