About the role
- Fullstack Developer & DevOps/Sysadmin at Vanever, building scalable applications with a modern tech stack. Responsible for infrastructure management and feature development.
Responsibilities
- Develop new features based on PayloadCMS (Next.js), Remix.run, TypeScript, and Node.js
- Operate and maintain our Docker-based infrastructure (Hetzner, Caddy, Postgres, MongoDB)
- Make strategic infrastructure and tooling decisions (e.g. GitHub vs. GitLab, Turso vs. SQLite, Fly.io vs. Hetzner)
- Maintain and optimize CI/CD pipelines
- Set up and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting
- Oversee backups and recovery strategies
- Apply security updates and perform performance tuning
- Expand deployment automation
- Collaborate closely with the development team on scalable solutions
Requirements
- Experience in web development with TypeScript, Node.js, and React
- Experience with Docker and container orchestration
- Solid Linux server knowledge (Debian/Ubuntu)
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines (GitLab)
- Self-driven work style and strong troubleshooting skills
- Resident of Germany
- Nice-to-haves: Experience with Hetzner Cloud and infrastructure provisioning (OpenTofu/Terraform)
- Familiarity with Caddy, Nginx, or similar web servers
- Experience with PayloadCMS, Next.js, Remix.run, Postgres, and MongoDB
- Knowledge of web and server security best practices
