About the role

  • Finance Manager overseeing nonprofit accounting functions for CAMEO Network. Supporting financial planning, compliance, and fostering growth for underserved entrepreneurs.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
  • Expert at nonprofit fund accounting including donor restricted grant tracking and compliance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Alongside the CFO, coordinate and lead preparation for the annual independent financial audit and Single Audit.
  • Ensure compliance with Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200), including subrecipient monitoring, cost principles, and reporting requirements.
  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure proper grant management.
  • Support the annual budgeting process in collaboration with the CFO.
  • Provide financial analysis and forecasting to support strategic planning.
  • Collaborate with leadership to support fundraising, grant proposals, and financial sustainability strategies.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required and CPA preferred.
  • 7 years + nonprofit fund accounting and bookkeeping experience required.
  • Experience with annual financial audit and OMB single audit.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the CDFI industry in microlending/small business lending and project management.
  • Proven experience as an engaging trainer, both in-person and virtually.
  • Experience in the Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) industry highly preferred.
  • Extensive experience in writing, financial management, and analytical analysis is essential.
  • Strong people skills and a high degree of self-awareness with a flexible growth mindset that supports a strong culture.
  • Experience working with and on a remote team a plus.
  • A strong willingness to continue to learn the latest trends and best practices in accounting and CDFI space.
  • Successful candidates must be proficient in QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Office, Google Workspaces, Asana, Zoom, and possess the ability to learn new software quickly.
