About the role

  • Analyze export transactions for compliance with EAR, ITAR, OFAC and FTR regulations
  • Support item classifications (ECCN, HTS, and Schedule B) and technical parameter assessments
  • Review export documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Perform end-user and end-use analysis to identify potential red flags
  • Support license application preparation through data gathering and analysis
  • Research and analyze export control regulations and regulatory updates
  • Monitor Federal Register notices and agency guidance for compliance implications
  • Conduct comparative analysis of regulatory requirements across different jurisdictions
  • Maintain current knowledge of export control lists, country groups, and licensing policies
  • Maintain and update export control databases and tracking systems
  • Conduct data analysis to identify trends and potential compliance issues
  • Support audit activities by preparing documentation and analysis reports
  • Assist with regulatory filings and correspondence preparation
  • Perform restricted party screening using screening tools (Visual Compliance or OCR EASE) and government databases
  • Verify customer information and conduct enhanced due diligence reviews
  • Analyze shipping routes and intermediary parties for compliance concerns
  • Support investigations and resolution of potential compliance issues
  • Maintain export control and import compliance records and documentation
  • Support in the development, implementation, dissemination, and maintenance of internal compliance procedures
  • Support the preparation and delivery of compliance training on export control topics.
  • Support key trade compliance initiatives and projects as required.
  • Maintain expertise in international trade regulatory areas i.e. EAR, ITAR, CBP, FTR, OFAC, FTA, and global trade regulations.
  • Monitor, research and interpret regulations and requirements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of work experience of export control regulations EAR, OFAC, ITAR) and operations
  • Bachelor’s Degree in International Business or related field
  • Knowledge of international trade documentation, shipping processes, and Incoterms
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Working knowledge of item classification (EAR ECCN, USML Category, HTS, and Schedule B)
  • High level of personal integrity, as well as the ability to professionally handle confidential matters, and show an appropriate level of judgment and maturity
  • Experience with AES, ACE, SNAP-R and screening tools (e.g. OCR Ease, Visual Compliance).
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
  • **Preferred Qualifications:**
  • Knowledge of encryption controls
  • Familiarity with technical product specifications and engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of EU dual-use and BAFA export control regulation
  • Previous experience in manufacturing environment

  • The starting pay range for this position is $73,000 to $88,000 per year however, the base pay offered may vary depending on the level of the position, skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location.
