About the role
- Equity research analyst intern assigned to analyze stocks and contribute to investment performance at Fidelity. Working alongside portfolio managers and responsible for industry analysis and recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Equity research analyst summer interns works closely with Fidelity's portfolio managers and play a vital role in contributing to the investment performance of the firm.
- The intern will be assigned a group of stocks within a specific industry to analyze.
- This analysis involves interviewing company management, communicating with external research sources, assessing customers and suppliers, competitors of companies, compiling detailed financial models and projections, and applying economic and industry analysis to produce an investment recommendation.
- Interns have full responsibility for coverage of the assigned companies, and stock recommendations are solely attributed to them.
- The culmination of the internship is the completion of a written Industry Review that will be presented to members of the department.
- The challenge is for interns to become a specialist in the assigned industry and to convince portfolio managers to implement their recommendations into funds.
