About the role

  • Design, develop, and validate electrical hardware, systems and schematics for automotive vehicle programs
  • Collaborate closely with mechanical, software, and manufacturing engineering teams to integrate electrical components seamlessly
  • Generate detailed documentation including wiring diagrams, schematics, PCB layouts, bills of material (BOMs), and test procedures
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to electrical and hardware systems during build, integration, and testing phases
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, standards, and company policies
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in cost, electrical design, reliability, and manufacturability
  • Lead integration of assigned harnesses/cables within the vehicle architecture
  • Support PCB layout, component selection, and system prototyping activities from board to enclosure level
  • Develop and test components for EMC and environmental performance
  • Perform validation of audio quality, connectivity, reception, and RF regulatory certifications
  • Develop and test interior displays and infotainment systems
  • Optimize harness design for cost, mass, vehicle integration and manufacturing

Requirements

  • Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related degree
  • Must be graduating between Dec 2025 – June 2026
  • Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week

  • Expected to report to Metro Detroit, MI three times per week minimum (Hybrid work arrangement)
  • Hands-on experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and communication protocols (CAN, RS-485, Ethernet, etc.)
  • Demonstratable knowledge in electrical system design, schematics, and documentation
  • Knowledge of safety compliance standards (UL, CE, ISO 13849, etc.)
  • Experience with rapid prototyping and iterative development cycles
  • Familiarity with simulation tools for circuit analysis (SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink)
  • Solid understanding of analog and digital circuits, PCB layout, PLC Control, and component selection
  • Familiarity with industry-standard tools such as Altium Designer, OrCAD, Siemens NX, Capital, or CAD design tools
