Engineer managing PI Data Historian, providing support and troubleshooting for production and development environments at Enbridge. Collaborating with SCADA Operations and ensuring data integrity.
Responsibilities
Play a key role in the maintenance of PI Data Historian production and development application environments by providing technical support, troubleshooting, problem diagnosis, application testing and configuration changes
Work closely with the SCADA Operations and Integration teams to ensure changes in the source systems are reflected in the PI Data Historian
Support interfaces connecting to the PI Data Archive, PI AF, and PI Vision servers
Support the High Availability architecture of the PI environments
Develop PI AF calculations and event frames
Define and configure templates and solution hierarchies for PI AF
Support and resolve connection, performance, and various data flow issues
Collaborate with PI team members to ensure application support and service requests are met
Demonstrate a strong understanding of PI Data Historian (AVEVA PI) best practices, standards, and operating procedures
Demonstrate a strong understanding of server management best practices, standards, and operating procedures
Prepare and maintain documentation as per Enbridge standards
Be part of the 24x7 support team on call rotation
Show dedication to the team and its achievements
Participate in the Enbridge Health and Safety program
Requirements
Undergraduate degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
A minimum of 4 year(s) of work experience
Experience administering AVEVA PI Data Archive, AF, and PI Vision servers in a high availability architecture
Experience configuring and troubleshooting various interfaces (eg. RDBMS, PIToPI, Cygnet, OPC HDA) that are able to connect to the PI Data Archive and AF architecture
Working Knowledge of MS Windows server, MS SQL, and IIS administrative duties
Basic knowledge of PowerShell, SQL and Visual Basic programming language
Working knowledge of process control systems and SCADA system Platforms such as OASyS and Cygnet
Strong analytical, communications and problems solving skills
