About the role
- Develop test equipment for defence and aerospace projects (e.g., Eurofighter Typhoon)
- Contribute to creation and delivery of technical solutions within defined work package areas
- Establish and mature stakeholder needs, prioritise and trade-off requirements to determine optimum capability
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure architecture alignment across programme elements
- Ensure the team applies appropriate tools and techniques for test equipment design and provide expert advice
- Resolve and drive solutions for emerging issues, escalate complex risks and support mitigation options
- Develop, coach, mentor and upskill other engineers across the wider application of engineering
Requirements
- Industry experience of operating as an Electronics Design Engineer at a Senior level
- Demonstrated experience of technical solution development within a multi-disciplinary team
- Experience in capturing and analysing stakeholder needs to guide development of solutions
- Industry experience in the full design lifecycle
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure architecture alignment
- Ensure application of appropriate tools/techniques for test equipment design
- Ability to resolve emerging issues, propose solutions, escalate complex risks and support definition of opportunities and mitigations
- Develop, coach, mentor, teach, and upskill other engineers
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with an ability to influence and adapt
- Security clearance requirement: subject to BPSS pre-employment screening; may require eligibility for SC or Developed Vetting (DV)
