Electrical Engineer focused on protection and control system designs at Eversource. Collaborating on system reliability projects and operations support in New England's largest energy company.
Responsibilities
Review and evaluate proposed changes to existing electric facilities.
Create new Protection and Control system designs.
Specify materials associated with new or modified Protection and Control systems.
Develop, calculate, and document settings and logic for protective relays.
Perform coordination studies by modeling and analyzing electric system elements.
Analyze protection system operations during disturbances.
Interface with Eversource Planning, Operations and Field personnel.
Manage and perform work activities in a self-sufficient manner.
Perform peer checks of other group member designs and relay settings.
Actively support storm and/or emergency restoration assignments.
Requirements
Requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum of three (3) years of related Electrical Engineering experience is required.
Protection and Controls experience is preferred, including:
Experience performing overcurrent and distance coordination studies with ASPEN Oneliner modeling software or equivalent.
Experience performing post event analysis using relay and digital fault recorder event records.
Experience with the design and installation of protection and control schemes utilizing IEC61850 protocol.
Experience with the substation relay setting software, ex: SEL-5030 AcSELerator, GE-Enervista, etc.
Experience with the AutoCAD and PDF software for creating and marking up drawings.
