About the role
- Director of Supply Chain overseeing comprehensive supply chain strategies for US Tool Group. Managing operations, supplier relationships, and team leadership, ensuring efficient product movement.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of comprehensive supply chain strategies that align with company objectives, ensuring the efficient movement of products from suppliers to customers.
- Manage and mentor the supply chain team. Foster a collaborative and performance-driven culture within the department.
- Oversee supplier relationship management, negotiation of contracts, and performance evaluation to ensure high-quality, cost-effective products and services.
- Build strong partnerships with key suppliers and vendors.
- Oversee and implement cost savings initiatives that bring value to our customers and US Tool.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to minimize supply chain disruptions and address potential supply chain risks such as natural disasters, vendor issues, and regulatory changes.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain to optimize processes and improve overall performance.
- Work closely with other departments, including Sales, Procurement, Finance, and Operations, to ensure alignment of supply chain functions with broader business goals.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and company policies. Promote sustainability initiatives by evaluating environmentally friendly alternatives in sourcing and logistics.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
- A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., APICS, CSCMP) is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing a team of supply chain professionals.
- Deep knowledge of the Industrial Supply market, suppliers, and best practices
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- In-depth knowledge of supply chain principles, best practices, and industry trends.
- Exceptional negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and collaborate with stakeholders across the organization.
