About the role
- Director of Accounting leading end-to-end accounting processes for multiple nonprofit clients. Shaping financial strategies and ensuring grant compliance while mentoring cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Deliver accurate and timely financial statements, coaching, and counseling to stakeholders and operations managers to help improve margins and impact their bottom line
- Oversee and manage project accounting functions, including tracking project budgets, costs, and timelines to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with nonprofit funding requirements.
- Lead budget processes and incorporate periodic analytics
- Work closely with clients to solve issues related to complicated financial statement situations
- Monitor finances to aid clients functioning within those guidelines, and provide financial analysis and advice to clients
- Provide best practices within Quatrro to help the client improve their business execution
- Coordinate with other internal Quatrro teams for consultative support on all financial services
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to cross-functional teams aligned to a particular client delivery process
- Address client concerns and issues to ensure they are resolved promptly and dealt with according to client satisfaction
Requirements
- 4-year degree in accounting, finance, or business with an accounting/finance focus
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting and finance
- Experience working with Not-For-Profit organizations
- Demonstrated experience in project accounting, including tracking budgets, costs, and timelines across multiple projects
- Versed in federal, city, and state grant administration, including compliance, budgeting, and allocation
- Proven success providing consulting services to multiple clients at once
- Demonstrated people management experience and success leading a team of direct reports, with a focus on coaching and developing Senior Accountants and Accounting Managers
- Advanced knowledge of federal and state tax laws
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and functions in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Advanced knowledge of industry-specific accounting software and advanced Excel skills
- Deep understanding of accounting principles and processes
- Experienced in creating processes and efficiencies
- Strong business acumen and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated success working collaboratively and building relationships with key stakeholders and C-level executives
