- Supports internal and external audits by preparing schedules, responding to inquiries, and ensuring documentation is complete and accurate
- Conducts comprehensive transactional reviews to investigate and resolve discrepancies at the account level, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial standards
- Conducts technical accounting research to evaluate the impact of new or revised accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance required
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- 2+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience in a business environment
- Strong knowledge of GAAP; familiarity with FERC accounting is a plus
- Experience with accounting research and policy development preferred
- Experience working with mid- to enterprise-level financial software, with capabilities extending beyond entry-level accounting software
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the flexibility to adapt to evolving business needs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications, with the ability to manage and analyze large data sets effectively.
