About the role
- Director of Cloud Engineering at Fidelity, driving cloud solutions and modernization efforts via automation and innovative pipelines. Leading cross-functional collaboration and mentoring engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Help drive the design, development, and operation of cloud deployment pipelines in AWS.
- Partner with internal squads to accelerate delivery via automated pipelines and Generative AI
- Deliver platform engineering initiatives aligned with enterprise cloud first strategy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and secure solutions.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams.
- Champion DevSecOps practices and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
- 8–10 years of software engineering experience with a focus on automation and SDLC
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in AWS cloud development and migration
- Proficiency in languages such as Python, NodeJS, Angular, GoLang, and Java
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Open Tofu, AWS CloudFormation)
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture and platform resiliency
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership.
- Certifications in AWS, Kubernetes, or AI technologies preferred
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and fostering team growth preferred
- Expertise in Kubernetes, AWS Native Services, and Serverless Technologies (Lambda, SQS, DynamoDB, S3, IAM) preferred
- Familiarity with Generative AI and its integration into cloud platforms preferred
- Strong DevSecOps background with secure CI/CD pipeline implementation preferred
- Experience with observability tools (DataDog, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana) preferred
- Hands-on experience with Jenkins Core, Artifactory, and Runtime Monitoring preferred
- Database experience with DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, and Oracle preferred
- Solid foundation in Linux system administration, networking, and load balancing preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills across systems, networks, and applications preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative mindset preferred.
