About the role
- Diagnostics Engineer designing and optimizing diagnostic systems for L4-ready electric vehicle architectures. Collaborating with teams on protocols and validation testing in hybrid environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize diagnostic systems for L4-ready EV architectures
- Develop and maintain diagnostic systems for in-vehicle and connected diagnostics, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as ISO 14229 (UDS protocol)
- Define and configure Unified Diagnostic Services (UDS) protocols for vehicle ECUs, ensuring robust diagnostic communication and troubleshooting capabilities
- Validate UDS protocol implementations using simulation and physical test environments
- Collaborate on the design and integration of vehicle networks, including CAN, LIN, Ethernet, and FlexRay protocols
- Develop and support over-the-air (OTA) diagnostic and software update capabilities
- Perform in-vehicle and bench testing to validate diagnostic systems and protocols
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet diagnostic requirements and prepare detailed technical documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in vehicle diagnostics, automotive networking, or related roles
- Strong understanding and hands-on experience with the UDS protocol (ISO 14229)
- Proficiency in vehicle communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet, FlexRay)
- Hands-on experience with diagnostic tools such as CANalyzer, CANoe, and Diagnostic Development Environment (DDE)
- Familiarity with diagnostic standards, including ISO 15765, ISO 14229, and SAE J1939
- Experience with HIL/SIL setups for testing and validation.
