About the role

  • Database Administrator managing performance, reliability, and security of Oracle databases at T-Mobile. Collaborate with engineers and ensure optimal enterprise-level database operations.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, patch, and upgrade Oracle database software across Linux, AWS, and on-premises environments.
  • Administer Oracle databases, ensuring performance, integrity, availability, and compliance with T-Mobile standards.
  • Implement and manage Oracle Data Guard and Oracle GoldenGate for replication, high availability, and disaster recovery.
  • Monitor database health, performance, and capacity using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Grafana, and Prometheus.
  • Perform performance tuning, query optimization, and schema design improvements to enhance reliability and scalability.
  • Develop and maintain backup and recovery procedures to safeguard enterprise data.
  • Manage database users, roles, and privileges in compliance with security and regulatory requirements.
  • Automate routine administrative tasks using Ansible, Terraform, GitLab CI/CD, Bash, Python, and PL/SQL.
  • Document standards, procedures, and change management activities for operational consistency.
  • Collaborate with application developers, system administrators, and project managers to support deployment and data integration initiatives.
  • Provide troubleshooting and on-call support for production issues as part of a rotational schedule.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred)
  • 2–5 years of hands-on experience administering Oracle databases in enterprise or cloud environments (required)
  • Strong understanding of Oracle architecture, performance tuning, and backup/recovery.
  • Proficiency in Linux system administration and basic cloud concepts (AWS preferred).
  • Experience with automation tools and scripting languages for operational efficiency.
  • Solid problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
