About the role

  • Database Administrator managing, designing, and maintaining enterprise database systems at NextGen Federal Systems. Responsible for ensuring database availability, performance, and security in mission-critical applications.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, design, and develop enterprise database systems to support organizational applications
  • Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade database management systems
  • Monitor database performance and implement tuning and optimization strategies
  • Develop and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
  • Ensure database security, integrity, and compliance with applicable standards and methodologies
  • Implement and enforce database standards and best practices
  • Support database development activities including schema design and query optimization
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in development, test, and production environments
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for database configurations, processes, and procedures

Requirements

  • A four-year degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in a related Information Technology (IT) role
  • Demonstrated experience with database administration, design, and development
  • Experience working with **Oracle** and/or **Microsoft SQL Server**
  • Experience applying database standards and industry methodologies
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance or higher
